Gary Player won The Open at Muirfield in 1959, at Carnoustie in 1968 and at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 1974. He is the only man in the last 100 years to win The Open in three different decades. He also holds the record for most appearances in the championship, playing 46 consecutive Opens from 1956 to 2001.
